Production of 2,000 Mitsubishi i MiEV in 2009
Mitsubishi announced that it plans to produce 2,000 i MiEV electric vehicles in 2009. President Osamu Masuko said the Mitsubishi i MiEV electric car will be launched on the home market, Japan, next year.
The production of the Mitsubishi i MiEV will rise to 4,000 units in 2010 and then it will go into mass production. Most of the units will go on the home market priced at around 3 million yen.
The Mitsubishi i MiEV will go on sale in 2010 at a reduced price.
The Mitsubishi i MiEV will begin testing in Europe in October with a total of 12 units that will drive across Britain, France and Germany.
